This is the fourth and most recent iteration of MoD issued quartz chronographs, following the Seiko Gen 1 and Gen 2, and the Pulsar Gen 1.
The Pulsar Gen 1 is similar in look and dimensions, but suffered from a unusual chronograph configuration and operation, and a crown/stem which was vulnerable to damage. These faults were rectified with the Gen 2 which has a more standard chronograph configuration and operation, including a centre sweep seconds hand, 0.5 second sub-register and minute counter. The case also has shoulders to protect the crown. The overall impression is that this watch is built like a tank.
This example is dated 2012, during which year just over 600 units were issued. It is in excellent used condition and has been the subject of a recent case service as detailed in the condition report.
The case and back are excellent with only minor marks. The case back still has the original protective sticker, which has not been removed, but underneath the case back has the original, unmarked mirror-finish. The original crystal is excellent. The dial and hands are mint. Please refer to the images to make your own judgement about the condition of the watch. The images form an important part of the description
The watch case, crystal and pushers have been stripped and ultrasonically cleaned and new pusher gaskets, stem gasket and back gasket have been fitted and greased. A new battery has been fitted. All in full working order - chronograph starts, stops and resets. Date quickset works and date automatically advances. Supplied on a 20mm heat bonded 'James Bond' grey and black striped NATO strap.
The watch is absolutely suitable for everyday use, but it is vintage watch so is not recommended for sports or use in extreme conditions. The watch has not been pressure tested so water resistance is not guaranteed. This watch is covered by our waterproof 6 month guarantee.
