The 42mm Monnin divers watch case was used by a multitude of brands from the early 1980s onwards. Amongst these are well-known Heuer version, commonly known as the 'Jumbo' and the Royal Navy issued CWC divers. This example is the early 1980s iteration of the Technos Sky Diver.
It features a unidirectional rotating bezel with metal insert, a screwdown crown and screw case back.
A range of different movements was fitted in Monnin divers, but during the early 1980s the ETA 536.121 was commonly used, either with day/date, date indicator or 'no-date'.
The early 80s Technos 'Sky Diver' version uses the ETA 536.121 with date indicator, and has a very attractive deeply embossed case back.
This example is in nice vintage condition and has recently been serviced, as described in the condition report.
It also has a period correct vintage rubber tropic strap in good condition - not perished and definitely still useable.
The case is in good unpolished condition, with general wear and marks from use. The case back is in good condition. The bezel insert is good, with some marks and rotates smoothly with a nice positive click and minimal back play.
The dial is in good condition with aging to the tritium lume plots. The hands are in good condition, including the unique 'no entry' seconds hand.
The watch was subject to a full service in June 2026. The case parts were stripped and ultrasonically cleaned. The original 536.121 movement was stripped and mechanically cleaned in waterless solutions and hot air dried. The movement was rebuilt, lubricated with Moebius oils and regulated. New crown and back gaskets were fitted, along with a new battery and crystal.
On the quartztester machine the watch is running at +0.02 seconds per day, equivalent to +.62 seconds per month, well inside the original specification of +/- 10 seconds per day.
The watch is absolutely suitable for everyday use, but it is vintage watch so is not recommended for sports or use in extreme conditions. The watch has not been pressure tested so water resistance is not guaranteed.
Please examine the images to assess cosmetic condition for yourself. The images form an important part of the description.
