SE Type 6 - 21mm khaki canvas webbing strap

The SE Type 6 is fantastic strap with an authentic vintage feel - it feels like a proper piece of kit. The only thing missing is the musty Army surplus smell. The 21mm Type 6 single pass webbing strap is made to our own construction method and pattern, but is similar to an upsized AF0210, being constructed from two layers of canvas webbing glued and stitched together around the edge. The stainless steel hardware is held in place by a stitched and glued loop of material, with the cut ends sealed to prevent fraying.

The strap has a reinforced doped section with pre-punched holes for easy and comfortable fitting. When new this is quite stiff, but softens up with wear. Bending it to fit though the loops will not cause it to crack or split and will not damage it in any way. The doped section can be slightly curled to pass through the lugs if necessary and pulled as hard as required. This will not damage the strap of the watch, and the doped section will wear in with use.

SE straps are individually numbered with a unique 3-digit serial number and year of manufacture.The first digit represents the strap type - so 6xx is a Type 6 strap.

The full Sumac Watches logo and the strap type reference are stamped on the inside, and the Sumac pheon and strap serial number are stamped on the outside.

There is an option to order the strap with internal markings only, which are not visible when worn.

The standard SE Type 3 strap is 275mm overall length (+/-) with the option to customise to your preferred length.

Please note that custom length straps will take 2-4 weeks to produce as they are made to order, and cannot be cancelled or returned. When ordering a custom length strap you must message us via the contact form to confirm required overal strap length.

SE straps are individually handmade - not in a factory or sweatshop - so there are minor variations between each strap, and the stitching and stamping may not be perfect, for example.

Sumac SE straps are supplied in a sealed and stamped kraft paper packet, bearing the Sumac Watches logo, strap type reference and serial number. The inspiration for the packet came from 1974 US Government issued black 16mm straps, as fitted to GG-W-113s, which were supplied in a sealed brown paper packet, with description and stock codes printed on the outside. See our Instagram post on the GG-W-113 paper packets.
